Pastor Dale Amundsen
Dale Amundsen has been in the pulpit rotation at the Anderson Island Community Church since 1997. Pastor Dale has been in ministry since 1976 as a preaching pastor, an emergency services chaplain, a wedding and funeral minister, and as a speaker.
A Seattle native, Dale first studied ministry at Grace Bible College (Grand Rapids, MI), then earned graduate degrees at Seattle Pacific and at Fuller Theological Seminary (Pasadena, CA). He’s served in positions in Shoreline, Port Orchard, Burbank (CA) and Seattle. Dale has been the preaching pastor at churches in Puyallup, Redmond and now Anderson Island.
Dale’s primary ministry was as the Sheriff’s Chaplain in King County, also working with the Medical Examiner, the state’s training academy and smaller fire departments. Previously, he volunteered for the Tacoma Police and Pierce County Sheriff.
Active in the business community, Dale is the past chairman for the Bothell Kenmore Chamber; he frequently hosts, emcees or auctioneers for charity fundraisers. In addition to serving at the church, Pastor Dale has an active ministry of leading wedding and funeral services. As a member of the National Speaker Association, he often speaks for funeral industry conventions.
His interests include classic British motorcycles, Alaska aviation history and small business concerns.
Pastor Dale and his wife Wendy were married at the community church in 2003. Between them, they have five adult children and a spoiled rescue dog named Aurora.
